Why, oh why, you crazy lady?

Why in God’s name would a grown woman spend any waking hours writing a car blog? Shouldn’t she be sipping Appletinis and watching Sex In The City reruns? Probably.

But instead, I find myself flipping through Car & Driver, Road & Track and trying to break my most recent record time from my driveway to Trader Joe's.

More importantly, I’m lucky enough to have a 2 hour commute on the West Side of Los Angeles.  Before you roll your eyes at the length of my ozone-depleting, road rage inducing daily jaunt, consider this:  my commute has me cruising on the US’s (and possibly the world’s) most extraordinary roads for automotive eye candy– Pacific Coast Highway, Topanga Canyon Blvd and Melrose Avenue.  It’s high-end car porn on a daily basis.  So, while the rest of you are sandwiched by white F150s and silver Accords for 20-30 miserable minutes, my commute is speckled with endless Porsche’s (I’m not talking Boxsters), delicious yellow Lambos and enough red 430s to make $350k seem like a reasonable number for a car purchase.

So, dear reader, I’ve decided to share my experiences (the weird, the wonderful and the ridiculous) with you.  My hope is that this second degree vicarious thrill will be captivating enough to enable you to forget your own life’s nonsense, if not for just a fantastic, throttle filled minute. We’ll soon find out.
