Nissan: the Rodney Dangerfield of car companies

I’m a car snob. There– you happy? I am.  But I still have to give it up to Nissan. Not only are they guys that went from this:

the stunningly terrible Sentra. To this:

and even they just won Car Of The Year with the Leaf (which is too ugly to show). Kan Pai!

So why don’t they get any respect? For God’s sake, the GTR is faster than all of the production Europeans (except for the $2.4 m Bugatti Veyron Supersport) for 0-60.  It clocks in at 2.8 seconds, for a base price under $90k that’s almost wrong!

Again, why am I the only person stalking this guy in Hollywood:

Are we so stuck on the Stanza? Still pouting over Pearl Harbor? Or did a guy named Biff date the cheerleader you wanted and drove something that looked like this:

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a car snob too. I’m not buying one any time soon either, I just want to understand why.
