One of the great things about living in Southern California is that we have a lot of car shows. Recently, the great Peterson Automotive Museum organized a Ferrari Drive-In event in honor of Enzo Ferrari’s 100th birthday. And unlike Enzo’s past few birthdays, which I usually spend watching Scooby Doo re-runs & playing X Box with Michael Schumacher, this was really fun.
As a veteran car show attendee, I’ve learned a few tricks so I will share them with you. Here goes:
#5 Get There On Time. The thing is about rich guys, they like to show off their cars, but their 26 year old mistresses like the champagne brunch at the Ivy, so they’re probably going to leave early and when they do, the parking lot could look like this:
#4 Don’t Be A Snob.
Yeah, it’s blue. Sure, it’s mid-engine. Yeah, it’s not your favorite Ferrari. But it’s cool and it’s the one time that you can oggle it without some d-bag thinking you’re trying to steal it. So suck it up, mister.
#3 Don’t Crash The Party
Listen, I think you’re shagadelic, baby! I really do! But this is Enzo’s birthday, not Austin Powers’. So do me a favor and next time, leave the Jag at home. Why must I be surrounded by frickin’ idiots?
#2 Don’t Miss The Other Parking Lot
One interesting fact about people who come to car shows, they love cars. So you’ll find that even the plebeian parking area is populated by more than the average Accord and minivan. You may even spot a Bitchin’ Camaro SS around the corner, like I did on Saturday:
And the #1 most important thing to remember for your next car show is..
Don’t Bring Your American Girl Doll
I know what you’re thinking–but I need them to occupy the kids! The American Girl Doll store is right around the corner! How else could I bribe them out of bed on a Saturday morning?
Well, friend, I’m here to tell you. Letting your little girl bring her AG doll to the Pete is like letting your teenager bring nunchucks to an antique show– only bad can come of it. I’m pretty sure that no damage was done this time, but those $100 toys are solid as a rock and could easily put a dent in a Dino. So leave ’em at home.
I laughed my ass off………….so true add don't park your mini van within 5 feet of a classic or any other car……ever……!
As I website owner I believe the content material material right here is real fantastic , thanks for the efforts.
I used to be recommended this web site by means of my cousin. I’m not positive whether this post is written through him as nobody else recognize such specific about my problem. You are amazing! Thank you!
